But alas, Willy had a dose of Wizard Woes which had lain him low. There was no wizard alchemy that could lift the woes. They were cured by twenty-one days rest and care. Everyone in Memories Hideaway rallied to make the twenty-one days comfortable.

There were many theories as to how the woe penetrated a wizard’s balance. Chief Wizard Surgery at Hospital Space had categorised the woe as incurable. He felt that it had to do with an ancient lingering spell....

Speedy spell locked itself between Duke’s ankles and propelled him down gently to Hospmount. Cradled in Sudden Valley at the bottom of Surprise Drop, at the foot of Downside Peak.

The hospital was quite unique and famous throughout the Asian Hemisphere, for it was staffed with Chinese Surgeons, headed by Dienfuchi, the cerebral acupuncture practitioner. They had performed fourteen hours, using 454 needles including 54 of the latest Illidiom category, to save Duke who had been gumtionised. They succeeded. He won his life - sans his clairvoyant powers. it took poor Duke many years before he could face his destiny, which the Wizard Rehabilitation Centre had found for him at the Bay....
