Pixie Brigade had fanned out as they approached the precincts of Ruby Tower. It was a tall slim edifice.

Each brick had been fashioned at the Ruby mines – there were recesses at intervals which were lined with silver.  There were no windows, instead an invisible covering where the glass would have been, responded to a gentle touch

which enabled the Brigade members to peer into the interior.

They that is Bimbo Botticello and Simple Elf were now scaling down the internal ruby walls and alighting together they concealed themselves behind a kangaroo statue made of pure gold.

Soon they were entranced and dumbfounded at a ritual that was unfolding orchestrated by the Kanga Priesthood.  Willy sat in Ali Baba’s chair and was frequenctized into vision acute, now receiving clarity waves from the Ruby Tower.

Willy was transfixed by the scene, for on a

He would not hear any sound but had spotted his special brigade in their strategic location close to the Kanga Priests.

Some thirty shaven-headed priests wearing leather kangaroo pouches moulded around their loins were playing leapfrog at a tremendous pace.  ….

board lit by torches of flame, numbers and words appeared…

The race boxes were slung between the high tropical Tango Trees. The Wizards sat in their race view positions happy and excited to see the sport.

“Bravo!”They echoed as the sky was spread-eagled with some  ..    hurdles which had appeared in their vision. The obstacles appeared in mid-air and looked like black smudges in the sky.

……………..Wizard Kentucky’ s booming southern drawl pierced the tranquil atmosphere.

“. …………

……………..They’re off!!........

And what a sight - Willy had heard about it but never seen this spectacular sport.

……………………stretched almost horizontal over the hurdles, hurdling at a tremendous pace, eyes seeming bulbous and possessed - one in particular sped bullet like and took a commanding lead. This Jokie blended into the orange racing saddle and soon one could only just make out the black contrasting spots of the Jokie. What a vision! They clapped and shouted their encouragement.

Tumble, Bumble and Grumble were prostrate with wonderment. They had never encountered magic, and indeed this was sky-magic.  It literally floored them. Tumble did indeed tumble out of his hammock with stupefaction. Kentucky set the scene for the polo feast. A green green carpet appeared like a field in the sky, and the audience was enthralled as the mini polo ponies careered back and forth with their Jockies at breakneck velocity around the entire carpet lawn.

Ha-He scanned the guest list. There were names he wasn’t too familiar with. Others he knew intimately. Wizard Laughter from Wymoning; a lovely companion. Wizard ‘ The Good’ whose real estate skills had garnished a fortune in prime acreage; his generosity was persistent and repeated. And his very good friend Wizard Calculus; the maths professor at Wizard University.

………….There were some seven wizards that he had not met. He was especially pleased to see Wizard Coup, the sporty gambler from Kentucky and the aged storyteller Wizard Raconteur………………..

…………………..to the surprise event of the day.  They had not long to wait for Wizard Kentucky had agreed to stage his magic Race Day and he had brought his famous team …………Polobabes - Tiny poloponies specially bred for sky jostling contests
